Use Prism for the obvious-misread sweep
Before every landing-page rewrite, every pricing-page change, every cold-email sequence, every launch tweet, run a Prism check. 60 seconds. Catches the things 500 calibrated buyers would catch on first read: tier ordering, hero misreads, CTA-as-sales-motion, naming opacity. Don't ship the version that fails this.

Use user interviews for the unknown unknowns
Once a quarter, run 5–8 user interviews with real buyers. Open-ended. Listen for things you didn't know to ask. The product motion you missed. The competitor you weren't tracking. The job-to-be-done that's actually different from the one your positioning assumes. Prism can't surface these because Prism only answers the question you ask.

When an interview surfaces a hypothesis ("buyers seem to want X"), turn it into a Prism check ("would 500 buyers click this version of X?"). The interview gave you the question. Prism gives you the distribution.

Use user interviews to validate Prism's accuracy on your specific buyer
Once a quarter, pick 3 checks Prism shipped a strong opinion on. Bring those same 3 questions to the next 5 user interviews. Compare. If Prism's calibrated cluster matches what real users said, your audience choice is right. If it doesn't, build a custom audience.
User interviews are the highest-fidelity research tool a SaaS founder has. Talking to a real buyer for an hour reveals things no calibrated cluster can. The downside is the cost: a clean five-interview round takes a week of your time and €1,500 in incentives, and at the end you have five data points.
Prism is the opposite. Lower fidelity per respondent, the simulated buyer hasn't lived your category for ten years, but 500 of them, in 60 seconds, calibrated against the public discourse your real buyers actually read. That's the right tool for the obvious-misread question. It's the wrong tool for the unknown-unknowns question.
